Question HDD shows up smaller than actual size

I just got my new hdd working and formated. Its a samsung 40gb but it shows up as only 31.4 gigabytes. And my 20gb shows up as 18.6. Is this normal or did I messup somewhere?

The 20GB that shows 18.6GB is normal, my Maxtor 40GB shows up as 37GB though.

You need a bios update or a controller card. Looks like your bios has a 32gb limit.

Latest bios is F9: http://www.giga-byte.com/Download/Do...s_6vtxe_f9.exe
