I've got this guy whose given me a case cuz he blew his cpu since it overheated. The main problem was that he can only place the case in a small place (Just a little bigger than the size of the case.) Now, I've added a heatsink w/ cooling fan, modified to case for an exhaust fan on top, side fan, rear fan. There is absolutely no way possible that I can add a fan in the front since his case is so tiny. Any way I can work around this problem w/o murdering his case any more? I was hoping to use just these three fans if its possible.
Thanks! |

It's not necessary to have a front intake fan installed...as long as the case has an exhaust fan, cool air will be drawn into the case because of the negative pressure within the case. Hopefully, the front of the chassis has enough small openings for cool air to enter from or the air will just come in from where ever it can (probably through the optical and floppy drives).

I second Cricket's statement, I hardly ever use a front case fan as they tend to make more noise.

a front fan isn't really that necessary as long as you have an exhaust fan. and it sounds like you have a good setup.
