SATA HD temp

Ok, so I've been researching SATA (thanks again to those who've answered my questions on this board) and am pretty sure that's the way I want to go in my new build, but I have one concern.

I've been looking at the Seagate SATA drives, and several of the reviews I've read on Newegg and elsewhere describe these drives as running unusually hot. Is this something any of you have experienced? Is this specific to the Seagate drives or something that happens with all SATA drives? Should I look into additional HD cooling?

I've used Seagate IDE drives in the past, and always found that they were both cool and quiet, which is why I found this to be a concern. Any info or thoughts would be appreciated.

Just make sure you have enough exhaust and intake case fans installed and you should be fine. Western Digital also makes very good Serial ATA hard drives.

If you want to help with the heat and have available 5.25 inch bays, you could put the drive into a Coolermaster Cooldrive housing. I do this with all 10000 rpm drives on general principle.
