Mouse and Keyboard not working
Hey all,
I've got this old compaq Persario, its about 4 years old. It was working until a couple days ago, where the keyboard and mouse suddenly didn't work. Here's the steps i took: 1) I checked to see if another keyboard mouse would work. no luck, there fore i eliminated the mouse and keyboard as the issue 2) i tried going into the BIOS, this is where the fun began The keyboard was literally just BARELY being sensed....in otherwords, it got into the BIOS, but then stopped working. 3) I rebooted, and I couldn't get into the BIOS again....the keyboard and mouse still don't work In other words, its like both of them crash out right after it turns on...and produces no keyboard error. I think its a PS/2 error, in which case they need to get a new comp OR try out a USB mouse/keyboard. What do you guys think? |

update:
I got it working again, but my fear is that the connection is loose, because i had to open it up and kinda play with it to get it to work. |

Try clearing the CMOS and see if that solves the problem. A bad or faulty power supply can also be the cause of your problem. Hopefully the keyboard and mouse controller did not go bad since this may require replacing the motherboard.
