Question compact flash memory

What is the biggest size available?I have just bought a cannon a70-its great. But the 16mb card is not that good for video.

Largest I've heard of is 512MB.

There will be a max size that the camera can accept - you need to check your specs. It appears to me that this model tops out at 256mb, but I may be wrong.

the biggest size available for Compact Flash is 4 GB. Yep, 4 GigaBytes. Lexar, and Sandisk both have these type II CF cards available. not sure of the price, but im sure that it cost more than your camera.

It will probably not work with your canon though. You will need a camera capable of reading FAT32. FAT32 is needed as a file system for this CF due to its large size.

I got a canon digi cam and it had an 8mb CF card! I quickly ordered a 128 megger offline.

the manual said 256mb. It did not say that 256 is the max size,

I'd probably accept that 256mb is the largest it will take. I don't think I've seen a camera under $1000 that will take 512 or larger. E-mail Canon and ask them.
