To Dremel or Not to Dremel?
I'm looking at getting a Dremel for my future case mods but I'm not sure which Dremel model to get. I've been looking @ Amazon.com and it looks like there are 3 Cordless Dremels (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...900682-8636112)
and 6 Corded ones(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...900682-8636112). Anybody have any suggestions or experience with Dremel tools? The cordless ones would be easier to use, but do they have less cutting power than the corded ones? Thanks! |

I would think that the wireless ones would only last for a limited amount of time before needing to be recharged, thus the rpms dwindle as the power fades. IMO a corded dremmel tool would perform better.

I agree with force_flow2002, get a corded one. I have one in my Auto repair shop. Very handy tool.

I purchased the dremel multipro kit from Lowes. It came with a dremel, flex shaft, decent selection of tips, and a case. I also bought a pack of various cutting discs to complement what came with the kit.

Don't go cordless. Get a variable speed corded Dremel. You get at least 10k rpms more out of them. Make sure you don't get a 2-speed Dremel either. Variable is the way to go. Of the Amazon kits, I like the Dremel 3962-02 Variable-Speed MultiPro Tool Kit.

The one speed 30000rpm one is good. Dont go coordless, less powerfull and wear down when doing heavy tasks.

I have the variable-speed MultiPro tool, and it works great. Don't get a single speed, in my opinion.
I would also check around for cheaper prices than Amazon. They seem to be pretty expensive compared to what I paid for mine. |

Actually Amazon.com is the cheapest of the official Dremel store, Menards, Home Depot, and Sears.

I ordered this Dremel yesterday... Link
!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just noticed, I only paid $73.99 for this (yesterday) and now it costs $77.99. Amazon raised the price.... Anyways, if you're looking for a dremel $78 is still the best price I found for this model. Free Shipping too! |
