How to romove unknown password??

How do you remove password protection on a shared drive running WIN98SE? A friend has a pc on his network that has files he wants to access on the pc's "c" drive. But a former employee password protected the drive. So when another pc tries to access the drive, a password is required. Of course, nobody knows what the password might be. Any way to get rid of it?

Hi Ron,

These are just some thoughts:

On 98/ME (I don't know about all versions though) you can usually just hit "Esc" and the password box goes away and the system lets you right in.

However, You mentioned "Former Employee" so I assume this is a business--If so, Has your friend installed any security software? If he has you may want to let these guys know, so they know what they're dealing with.

Just some thoughts....

Have you tried deleting the .pwl files and rebuilding the network connection?
