Question Monitor suggestions?

I'm thinking about getting a 19" Flat Panel monitor. I don't want to pay a fortune but I do want a good qaulity one. Any ideas?

19" are mostly expensive. If you don't find one that is cheap enough for you you can also look at a 18" TFT, they cost less and have the same resolution.

Good brands are Philips, NEC, Samsung, KDS
Bad brand: Viewsonic

KDS RAD-9 and Samsung 191T are good choices.

I currently have a 17" CRT KDS. That has been good so far.

What is the difference between TFT and LCD monitors?

A TFT LCD monitor has a LCD-Panel where every LC is controlled by a transistor. That's today's standard for all flat panels.
LCD without TFT were extremely slow, and they don't exist anymore. . at least there are no new models.
All flat panels are TFT LCD.

I would recommend using newegg. You can also check www.mwave.com and www.googlegear.com

If you are a member at Sam's Club, the ones around here have NEC-Mitsubishi flat panels at a really nice price.

Gotta disagree with ya, RJ - just set up a couple Viewsonic VX900's, they look better than the KDS RAD-9's we used before. KDS removed the DVI connector from the latest RAD-9's so we had to look elsewhere.
