Good gaming monitor?
I am new to monitor purchasing, and am looking for a great CRT monitor for gaming (I refuse to even consider an exorbitant flat panel). I’ve heard good things about Samsung and Viewsonic. The spec system is indiscernible to me, but I definitely need very good levels of detail and a high refresh rate for high-end online gaming. As for the screen size, I want at least 17 inches (16 viewable) and will increase it in degrees based on price. For those curious, I’m going to be running a Barton 2500+, Abit NF7-S, and Radeon 9800np. Thanks!

The best is a Sony Trinitron....thats my opinion at least. They are very, very good.

Aren't those all AG monitors? Gray lines across the screen while gaming can get annoying. By the way, I'm willing to spend up to around $220, and one of the best monitors I've found has been the Samsung 765MB.

For that budget, go for a 19". The Samsung 955DF is one of the best 19" CRTs around. http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduc...cription=955df

Regardless of the tube mask technology used, bigger is better for gaming. Get the biggest tube you can for the money.
