oc'd 9500?

I've used RivaTuner to o/c my video card to 360x305. I just downloaded 3Dmark2001 and I got:
11861

Is that a good score for my oc'd 9500?

Is that a modded and OC'd 9500 (as in it's actually a 9700 now) or just a plain 9500 non-pro that you've overclocked to those speeds?

Yeah... try the softmod.... and if its not a 9700 the score is not that bad a score. Although you'd think a little higher with those clocks you are pimping.

i thought i had softmodded the np9500 to a 9700, but i guess i just oc'd it instead.

when i open up RivaTuner it displays my videocard as 256bit. does that mean that i was successful in softmodding?

if not, what can i do to make my 9500np have the same performance as a 9700?

It sounds like you did softmod it since the original 9500 non-pro doesn't have a 256 bit memory interface. RivaTuner should also say something like 8x1. You can also download Aida32 and check it in the GPU section. It will list how many pixel pipelines the card has...it should say 8, not 4.

The 9500np it is suggested you get L shaped memories because they ARE wired for 256 bit interface. It just cant use it. the mod unlocks pipes. You should retry and softmod your card. See the 3dmark2001 thread where you also posted this for a better explanation of what is going on. I too had a 9500 np so it might work but your attempt didnt. The pipes have not brought your fill rate up. You need to reapply and hope you dont get checkerboards.

The softmod unloks pipes, it doesnt change your memory... hence it is worthless on a 9500 pro with 8 pipes and 128 nit inline memory... makes sense no?
