Dual channel
My friend has asus a7n8x with 2 sticks of 512mb kingston pc2700 ram. I want to enable dual channel on his computer. How do i go about this? The manual says put them in either slots 1 and 3, 1 and 2, or 2 and 3 to enable dual channel and im thinking... thats all the combinations... Is there a bios setting or a way to know its dual channel isntead of single. He looked through the post and he said he couldnt see anything.

dual channel
I have an asus board also, I see no way to know for sure it is working except fpr performance. Just follow the book and all should be fine.

Yes, just use the slots that the manual sez, and it will be in DualDDR mode. If you'd like some sort of "visual confirmation," then they have BIOS updates that will show this on the bootup screen. I've downloaded it, but haven't flashed the mobo yet, but it should work as advertised....

just to let you know, it does work as advertised. I flashed my bios to rev. 1004 and it now shows up as being enabled on the bootup screen
