looking for drive mounting rails
My email to Chieftec:
Quote:
Seems Chieftec doesn't want to be contacted, my mail was returned. The contact page they had up also doesn't work, and CoolerMaster doesn't reply. What is WITH these people? Nevermind the closeout panels, I just ordered enough drives to fill the open slots! Anyone have a good picture of these drive mounting rails or know where I can buy some? I can make my own if I can get a working drawing of them, or if nothing comes around I'll end up doing them from scratch but I'd rather not. This case has the purple case fan mounting clips in it and a dozen flanged holes about 3/4 inch (19MM) diameter on each side. I'm sure a lot of you have seen them before. Thanks for any help with this detail, the darn thing is getting near completion at last, and I'm getting tired of fooling with it |

~For sales, press 1~ <1>__"We only sell cases, you have to talk to tech support for parts"
~For tech support, press 2~ <2>_________dead air. Ok how about a verbal description of the rails? I assume it's like a plastic bar that screws on to the side of the drive and then slides into the bay between the flanged holes? Any measurements I can get for existing rails would also be a big help. |

You could try looking on the web for a place that sells that case. They might have some extra drive rails laying around from when they put systems together or from damaged cases that they've gotten back. I lost the rails for my cheiftec matrix case and I called directron, were I bought it, and they gave me some extra ones they had.

Thanks, but my case it out of production now. I felt lucky when I found it on Newegg as a refurb after it had disappeard from their listings (and my wish list). I'm still happy with it for the $56.00 I spent even if rounding up the missing pieces is turning out to be a challenge.
BAH! I've spent about enough energy trying to buy these things. I'll take it in to work (machine shop) with me tomorrow and make something. At $60.00 per hour, I'll be making some pretty expensive parts, but for the time spent poking around I could have made them by now! Last edited by Cacstus; 09-05-2003 at 07:00 PM. |

Nice! I already had the measurements and was ready to cut plastic and stopped for lunch. Luckily I checked here before I started cutting

Confused!
My CD drives from Newegg, and my rails from Directron arrived today. A perfect fit! And another smallish headache out of the way. Thanks again for the tip. |
