case cooling question
not too good at setting up a colling system, so im wondering if this is effective: 1 80mm fan on side window directed at cpu with 2 rear 80mm fans on the left at the back of the case (lower fan taking air in, above fan pushing air out). There is also another 80mm fan at the top of the case blowing air out. What im concerned about is whether or not the air that's being taken into the case is being blown right out by my upper rear fan as it goes in and not letting any cool air reach my computer parts. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Overall the plan sounds good, but I would have one fan in the rear blowing air out and move one to the bottom-front of the case sucking cool air in so that it creates and wind tunnel effect.

Try to visualize the air flow through your case with the fans set up the way you want them. You want to have a nice flow going front to back and going past the hotter components within your case. You basically want cool air to come in from the front of the case and exit through the back.
I would set up the fans like this: 2 fans on the back blowing out. Fan on the top blowing out. Side fan is isn't really necessary, but set up blowing in. This gives you more air leaving the case and that creates a slight vacuum. This in turn will naturally draw cool air into the case from the front. Just remember that the more fans you use in your case, the noisier your computer becomes. Cricket

i want to add fans to the front of my computer, but I'm having a lot of trouble removing the front bezel. the case i have is an Xoxide X-Dreamer...if anyone has this case and/or info on how to remove the thing, it would be much appreciated.
-Oh, and thanks for the previous input guys. one thing though, my side fan is pretty close to the rear, so would the air coming in just be sucked right out if both rear fans were blowing out? |

PCNuby check out the other thread (best off the best) i told you how to remove the fron plate.
As for fans i spent about an hour experimenting and heres what i got, I put all my fans blowing out, 1 rear,1 side,1 top, and one in pci slot all blowing out this is the best way. To see if it was going from front to rear i had an empy bay so i opend it up and ripped a small peice of paper or tissue and put it by the bay and let it go the paper got sucked into the bay and out the side fan (well it got stuck in the fan grill). so now the air is going from front to back passing all the components and keeping everything nice and cool. I've had my computer on right now for about an hour just surfing the net the cpu is at 29c the system is at 30c.

FLG- I'm still having problems removing the case. After i take all the screws from the top, i can't seem to remove the part touching the front end of the case. Even if i can get it off, I'm still unclear on how to remove those 'push buttons' or (whatever they're called) to remove the front.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers and slighty sqeeese the thing together while slightly pulling the front plate, iff you cant get it then just leave it alone, i dont want you breaking your case.
