Epson printer

A mate of mine has an Epson 830 Photo stylus printer, I think thats the name of it anyway, well, recently, when she turns on the printer, first it makes a noise-like those hooter things that are at footie matches(obviously a bit quieter) and then there;'s another noise, a really weird one, it's SO loud it's unbelievable. She can't print either, when she does it makes the noises again and a window comes up that says something like "please turn off your printer and remove all foreign objects etc and please try again". But there's nothing in the printer that shouldn't be there, anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be?

Have you tried visiting www.epson.co.uk there is an online technical help section where you can chat to a technician. have not tried it myself but have seen it on the site.

Sounds like an Epson printer when it's shot. Are you sure there isn't a paper jam in there that you haven't cleared?

Well it's a friends printer but I did look at it for her, everything seemed perfectly normal in it, no paper jams or anything, I dunno, it sounds pretty bad anyway, the printer is only a couple of months old.
