I think you can pick any set of two USB leads to connect to whichever USB spot on your mobo you wish. I'd mebbe stay with the lower numbers first.

Kov,
When you say lower numbers what do you mean? Does that mean that USB56 and USB78 is like USB port 5 and USB port 6 and etc? |

The case in my sig has 5 USB ports. There are 3 in rear and 2 in front. Inside the case is another port to hook up two more double USB ports so it will support 9 USB ports.
The HD temp sensor I would think would go on the HD casing, (not on the electronics side) and most CPU sensors I have seen either mount to the heat sink or between the heat sink and the processor. |

Ya, like use 5/6 for your two fronts, and then 7/8 for any other fronts you may have. Probably doesn't really matter tho. If you have the ASUS manual, it's on pg 2-30, or you can download the manual from their site as well.
The cpu fan monitor is between the cpu slot and the RAM slots. Case fan monitor plug-in is just below IDE plugs. Not sure what you mean by HD monitor... |

Kov,
Got ya on the USB got it figured out. As for the temp monitor I have no idea what your talking about. I know the MB does monitor and adjust the fan and stuff from the fan plug by the ram. I have a stand alone thermo that suppose to monitor the CPU and the HD but I have no idea where to connect the sensors. they are just flat little pices of wire in plastic. |

Ok I still haven't figured out where the CPU thermometer goes.
Its just says on it Icute Digital Thermometer monitor. Where does it go? You know the little black tip on the white wire. |

Stick the sensor wire to whatever you want to monitor the temperature of. Useless in my opinion, but use them how you wish.
The bios monitors system and CPU temps, and Asus Probe (on the motherboard CD) will let you read these out in Windows, along with fan speeds and power supply voltages, if you care. A properly built P4 system is never going to overheat anyway, and if it does due to fan failure or the heatsink falling off the CPU, the CPU will shut itself down in self-defense before there is any damage anyway. |
