I went down to Noblepcs.com and bought an Asus A7N8X deluxe thier local store in town..
The retail box was not sealed with any scotch stape like material..and on the back side of the Board I saw this..like a sales price tag BUT it was kinda peeling off and i dont know..looks ..dare I say refurbished? pre-owned? used? :/ technically I havent used the board yet, im still runnin on my old MSI Kt3 Ultra-Aru...and the shop I got it from is right on my way home from college... any comments? thanks

No tape on the box is normal. The tag may be normal too... it may be thier own numbering system to track parts for warranty. One method to check is the static bag the board came in smooth, or does it look like it's been around the block a few times. How about the bags for the parts?

The bags of other parts seem normal..although the tape on the bag of the mobo looks like it was opened at least once..probably to put that tag on the bottom side...

It's probably ok. One tell-tale sign is if there is any visable dust on the board. If there isn't, I wouldn't worry.

Ok, i went down to the store and asked to see an ASUS A7N8X Dlx and opened it up and flipped it. Yep, saw the tag, asked the guy why? he said for inventory reasons.
fair enough? |

All the asus boards I've purchase from newegg have that on the back of the board also.
I think you're just fine with the one you got.

The best way to check if the board has been pre-owned is to look around the mounting holes. If you see little circles, or any of the blisters popped then you can assume that it has been used and mounted by someone else.
The company I work for also put our own stickers on, for exactly the reasons the guy told you. HTH

oohh heheh shouldn't be worried by that ..
like these men said ..at our shop , where i've worked, we did the same thin with mobo's and videocards... ![]() the number on it indeed serves for better finding it back in the registration of the products ...better to peel it off and stick on ur box...you never know heh ...but then again it's not neccessary
