Is it worth the upgrade?

I have an Athlon 1700 (non-tbred), and recently got a new board (trade for some hard drives). I could only go up to a 1800 with the old one. Would it be worth the upgrade ($76) to get a 2400 tbred? I do a lot of gaming, and also am doing F@H 24/7.

Can't afford to go the Intel route right now, as I would have to get a board and processor.

What kind of board is the new one?
I would say save some dough for now, and see if you can get the 2500 barton a little down the road.

Its an Epox 8rga+.

It will probably be over a year before I majorly upgrade my computer. With the trend looking like it is, I will go Intel. If I am going to go Barton, I'll have to buy a new board, anyway.
