Painting a Mouse
I bought one of those six dollar optical mice from Newegg. The mouse is great. The thing they skimped on was the paint. Yes, it's painted, not colored plastic. It was starting to wear off. I attempted to paint it with some Krylon spray paint and here are the not so beautiful results after two weeks of use: http://www.msnusers.com/1987Plymouth...oto&PhotoID=50
When I painted it I cleaned it very thoroughly before I painted it. Dose anyone have any suggestions on how to paint this thing? Any specific paint?

Buy a new mouse with colored plastic. Painting it aint worth the hassle for a $6 mouse. If you time is only worth $6 an hour and you spend an hour screwing with that mouse, then it aint worth it.

you can try krylon paint thats made for plastic. But from my experiance most paints don't hold up well when your in contact with it like that the sweat and oil from skin usually fades spray paint quickly

I wouldn't try it. Since your hand is on it all the time the paint will tend to wear off quickly

What type of paint did you use? I would tend to agree with those above, its not worth it to paint a mouse, but if you must I would think vinyl dye would work better.

I would agree that a $6 mouse is not worth the trouble. I painted a MS Explorer mouse a couple of years ago with RustOLeum and it still looks good.
