ram compatibility problems

I just got some Kingston 256 mb ram from newegg.com and am having some problems with it. My computer is 3 years old and I thought that it might not be compatible but then I saw what seems the exact same stick of ram just 60 bucks cheaper. I run a Pentium III 665 mhz, the only thing I could find bout the mobo is it says it is an 810e chipset, I don't know if that will help i'm just tryin to include as much information as possible. When I insert the piece in the spot, I turn the computer on and nothing will come up, the monitor just stays black. I checked for the green dots and what the manual says to do but all it says is to call technical assistance, which I hope you guys can help me so I don't have to do so
The Ram that i got is here
newegg.com
It is the 4th one down and costs 37 bucks

This is the ram dell reccomends I buy
dell part

I don't see the difference in these cards that would make one of them work and the other, plz help me

I just worked on a Dell and I bought Kingston Ram PC 133 and the same thing happened. I ended up using PC 100 Ram and it worked. Even though the Dell site says PC 100 or PC 133 , the Kingston site shows the PC 133 and says... this is not compatible with the BX 440 boards, the 810 and the 810 e boards. Use Kingston PC 100 for those boards.
I have used even generic PC 133 on Dell machines before, so they work, but evidently Kingston made some changes. I have also seen other Ram mfgrs says that their PC 133 is no longer backwards compatible with PC 100. Go to WWW.Crucial.com and input your Dell model number. They will sell you Ram that is guaranteed to work... and cheaper than the Dell site.
