What version of NERO are you using? If it's an older version you'll need to update it so that the 52x Lite-On will be recognized and supported.

Is it saying that you can't use nero from the pop up menu once you stick in a blank CD, or once you are in Nero it doesn't see it? Cuss I have to manualy start Nero for it to work. Using Nero 5.5.10.9. Came bundled with something... got so much darn software that I don't know what came from where any more

when im in the program, when i try to select the drive it says the only drive available is the image drive (c drive). the drive the burner is on is grayed out, meening its reading it as a cd rom, not a cd burner.

Most bundled versions of Nero only work with the drive it shipped with. Install the version that came with the drive or buy the full version.

You buy a new serial number from Nero's website for about 12-15 bucks and change it under the help menu. It unlocks the software for all burners. There is also a file you can download from Nero that has the latest drive configs in it, you plug it into the software and it has the latest parameters for your drive. You can also upgrade the software to the latest 5.5 version and the serial number is still good, I would recommend the upgrade.
