Smile GenX USB Flash Disk Drivers for Win98 SE

Problem Solved for a 128MB GenX USB Flash Disk for Win98SE Driver.

The link on the GenX website for their Flash Disk driver, (http://www.onlinegenx.com/Admin/drivers/USB.zip) has a corrupted Zip File on it, and is missing key components of the Windows 98SE driver.

After looking at the OEM.INI file that is zipped in that file I saw "TGE USB Flash Disk B2 [OEM]" listed, so I did a Google search for that entry and it gave me TGE's website. I tried their B2 driver, it did not work, so I noticed they have a universal driver for all the chips they make, and low and behold it worked.

I am sure there are other customers out there that would greatly appreciate this info if they have a GenX brand USB Flash Disk Drive.

I'm sure you're right, thanks for the info

However surely it would be of even more help if you would email the original site owner to let them know they have a corrupted zip file available for download?

Thanks,

GenX Was notified of the corrupted driver file...

Yup,

Been there done that. I emailed GenX the same day, with no reply as of yet. I just know that hard to find drivers like that are a Godsend when you need them. I found a hard to find driver reference on one of the PC Mech bulleteins, and it helped me out tons too.

I don't know much about GenX or their reputation for keeping their drivers up to date on the web, I just know some manufactures have really crummy support records with stuff like that.

Semper Fi Mac,
