Help!! Question on new hard drive!
I am in need of a new hard drive. I already have a 40 GB Maxtor, but am looking at the WESTERN DIGITAL "SPECIAL EDITION" 80GB 7200RPM EIDE HARD DRIVE.
This is $75.00 on New Egg. I was wondering if this was a good drive and if I could use it in my system (mixed hard drive brands.) Thanks! |

agree with DrZ, they are very good drives (I have 4 of them) and you can mix them.

As stated above, no problem! I just did a build with a Maxtor as Master, and a WD as Slave because my friend didn't know which one he wanted, so he bought both.
Be sure to set you jumpers correctly, and update to an 80-wire ribbon cable if needed. And don't forget to set it up and format the new drive. Last edited by TwoRails; 10-04-2003 at 07:22 PM. |
