Hard drive interface
I think ive made a big mistake. I ordered a new hard drive and its Serial interface, but the motherboard ive ordered has an IDE storage controller. Will the serial hard drive work with the motherboard?

If it is strickly a Serial ATA interface HD, it will only hook to a Serial interface.
You have two options if your mobo is IDE only. 1) Return the drive and get a HD with IDE interface. 2) Order a PCI Serial ATA interface card. Chas

What motherboard will you be using? Most newer motherboards support SATA hard drives.

I looked on the Asus site and didn't see where that board supports Serial ATA. So you need to swap the drive or get a PCI Serial ATA controller card.
