chassis intrusion?

can anyone tell me what this is? the asus p4p800 deluxe supports this, as does my case i believe...it's an antec. what does chassis intrusion protection or whatever give me? just wonderin. thanks.

It gives you a beep if the case is opened. A connection on the mobo is connected to a sensor on the case.

Why exactly do would you need an alarm for your PC? I guess if it was in an office or something but other than that, what is the point?

Yes, it's used mostly in corporate settings so that sys-admins know when a case is opened (our computers at work have them and you get a call from the IT staff when you open the case up). You wouldn't use it on a home computer.
