Hope someone out there can help with this problem.
I upgraded by motherboard to an Asus A7V. I reinstall all my cards and got it booted up and working except for one thing.
I keep getting a yellow ! point in device manager for my microsoft intellimouse with intellieye. I have downloaded the latest drivers from microsoft web site. I deleted the mouse and reinstalled the drivers. I still get the yellow ! point. If I delete the mouse in device manager and reboot the os will find the mouse and reinstall it as microsoft Ps/2 mouse intellipoint with a (guess what) yellow ! point. I try to update the driver in device manager and when I reboot, again a Yellow ! point by the mouse.
The mouse seems to work fine. The yellow! point bothers me whenever I turn on device manager.

Any ideas on what I am missing or am not doing?

Right click on that entry in the Device Manager, and read the System Status. What does Windows claim the problem is?

This is what windows says:

"This device is either not present, not working properly, or does not have all drivers installed.(code 24)
Try upgrading the device driver for this device."

I already tried upgrading the drivers. No help.

My Compaq M-S34 two button mouse has done that since day 1.

I gave up trying to work it out.

The error code is supposed to mean that the device was not found, or is not responding.

I think some of the manufactures have decide yeah, well heres your response *** * ! After all if it is working fine, how could it not have been found or be responding?

Its probably just the coding in the serial chip not giving Uncle Bill the answer he was looking for. I wouldnt worry about it.
