i noticed this
i noticed in a former thread (not to be mentioned due to the possibility of starting another war) the hassle of overclocking an AMD was mentioned. but with my asus A7N8X dlx mobo i had no trouble OC'ing my 3200XP. i didnt have to cut anything or fill anything all i did was go into BIOS and choose manual settings and there it was i could change the external cpu frequency ( 2x = fsb or something) and my multiplier. but on my parents intel based that i built them i can not change the multiplier
only the bus speed. which aggrivates me lol. but both systems work well but the 1.8P4 for my parents has overclocked a little better. mine wont boot at 2400hmz which is only like 200mhz over standard. my parents is running at like 2.19 and still cool enogh to go further. the only problem was the heatsink on the intel was madd hard to install compared to the AMD one. but that was lack of experience and bad vibes of possibly ruining their computer lol

Intel chips have a locked multiplier and can only be OC'd by increasing the FSB they OC very well as long as you have good ram and can lock the apg and pci speeds. The Intel cpus generally don't increase in temp as much as the AMD chips.
Only Intel branded boards do not permit overclocking, ASUS, ABIT, MSI, Gigabyte and others do allow OC'ing..
