Intel Mobo and CPU suggestions
I want to build a new PC with an Intel Mobo and P4 CPU to be used for general PC use and moderate gaming.
I need something in the 2.0 to 2.4 Ghz range for use now that could could later be upgraded to the 3.0 Ghz range or higher. Also please indicate what size power supply and type of RAM that would be needed. My budget for the Mobo and CPU is $200-$300. All other components ie. HD, Video Card ect. I already have. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The ASUS P4P800 is the mobo you're looking for. It can take a P4 2.4 and OC it to 2.88 easily if you get PC3200. I have a similar board with a different chipset and I can OC my 2.6 to 3.12 with no problems.

i should have mentioned that I wanted a genuine Intel board. I have nothing against other board manufacturers I've just always used Intel and have had absolutely no problems.

then the D875PBZ is the only way to go with on board gigabite lan 5pci slots serial ata etc HOWEVER it can only overclock 5% but if you dont want to overclock one sweet board
And most intel boards wont overclock at all but if you want to i would seriously switch to asus |

that mobo is a p4 compatable 478 socket its a great board
and since your going with a p4 there will be no problems (i dont think its celeron compatable but it could be but i know it preforms best with p4 The lowest speed it supports i think is 2 ghz and supports up to 3.2ghz |

Waz up?
Is overclocking of the ASUS the only real advantage of having that motherboard over the INTEL? Later, Dave |
