. . . this can also happen when you've left a non-bootable floppy in the floppy drive . . .

If you have your installation Cd handy, you can extract the .dll file from it (if it's a system file, that is) - by starting System File Checker (you can start it by typing sfc in the Start/Run box) and selecting the "extract one file ..." box. Type in the name of the file you wish to extract. SFC will keep the current one as a backup if you wish, and will extract the original file from your installation disk, and place it in the appropriate folder.

If you have any other Win98 software related questions, post a thread in the Win9x forum & we'll take it from there.
. . . Gary

[p.s. ....if you continue to get disk failure messages, you can always double-check the health of the drive by downloading the disk diagnostics from the website of its manufacturer.]

Run Scandisk and do a thorough scan to see if the drive is developing bad clusters. Or use the hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility to test the drive with.

But next time, please do not double post, there is no need for it.

How many Mods are there? I thought they all had Moderator as part of their profile.

Actually, it's really nothing to do with being a mod, but it has a lot to do with helping newer members of the Forum understand how the forum works. And, no, it doesn't have to say mod in the profile.

Sorry for the sarcastic tone. Long day, talked to too many people that should not be allowed to own a computer.

The poor guy is new and he has been told by more than one person not to double post.He got it twice here and at least once in the other post.

I just thought that once was enough. I am sure he got the message because he mentioned that in the other post, then got scolded again.

Sounds like you had a day like mine! Had a drunk relative bust out my windshield on my new (to me) truck.
