First build first photo
Ive never tried posting a photo here before so if this doesn't make it then let me appologize for the bunk post.
If it does then this is a photo of the mobo w/ cpu, floppy, and cd installed so far. What Id like to know is, is the cabling ok? Ive tried to route and tie all my connections to make them as clean as possible. Ive already decided that im definetly going with round cables I tried Hal's cable folding technique and cursed alot. Im also going to sleeve most if not all of the power supply wiring once I get everything else in and situated. |

Looks nice to me. You're mainly just trying to improve your airflow by keeping the cables as tight as possible, so you'll be fine.

Yes the case does have a side window. Ill be adding a light and sleeving most of the wiring later down the road.
And yes the case is a Turbo case X-Dreamer with the stock 350w PSU. I figured that the PS that came w/ the case would be junk. Any suggestions on a decent mid range PS? |

Take a look at power supplies from Fortron Source, Enlight, Sparkle Power...very good power supplies at reasonable prices.

Wire looms would help with keeping the wires tight in place and out of the way to improve air flow.

This isn't a working computer yet, is it? I don't see any RAM, video card or hard drives.

Yes that is correct.
So far its a Turbo case X-Dreamer II w/ 350w, Giga-byte GA-7400nPro2, Athlon XP 2500+ Barton, Utmost 48x24x48CD w/DVD rom, and a old floopy I canablized from an old Compaq. Ill be getting a 120G SATA drive and memory soon. Also I have a Saphire ATI 9000pro that is in my ex-girlfriends computer that Ill be making a stealth mission to liberate it from her computer and put in mine. I put it in her rig and she doesnt need it so Im reclaiming it til I buck up for a 9600 or 9700. |

Everything looks very good, so far. Good job!
That's a nice looking case, too. How did you like building in it? |

So far its been easier than I initially expected. Im definetly going to rework the PS wiring and the case is fine so far. Its quality isn't top of the line but neither was the price, but for $60(us) its a good case and I wasn't looking to go buying everything topshelf because this is my first build and I am mostly looking to get as much experience as possible, plus if I frag anything its going to be in the $100 range rather than $200-500.
Advice for any first time builder the Turbo case comes w/ zero info, however the website does have a pretty good FAQ section. http://www.aspireusa.net/ |

When everything is up and running make sure you report back with how it all is going, good or bad. Just wondering if the parts you chose will work well together since i'm thinking of getting some of them myself. good work and keep it up!

Yeah I am headng out to find a different PS today. Also a buddies girlfriend gave me a WD 40G hard drive last night, apparently she bought it an said it didn't fit her case so by the time she tried to take it back 30 days had already expired...apathy huh. Anyways when she gave me the drive I caan see why it didn't fit, its a 4 inch wide drive rather than 3.5". I didn't even know they mad a 4" drive, is it a server drive maybe?
