That temp isn't that high...and if your computer is running stable, then no worries.

Does that CPU temp match the temp in BIOS?

Yep no worries if theres no lagging then nothing to worry about, my 2400+ runs 60c when gaming for a few hours but it dosent lag one bit, no freezes, no crashes.

Yes it is the same. Would is reduce the life of my Cpu. just wondering.

No, would not reduce the life of the cpu. Some HDs and monitors run at that temp. Also, 32C is only 89°F.

One thing that everybody forgets is that two identical systems can display temps as much as 15°C or more! Same CPU, HS/fan, mobo, case, memory, etc...

52 is not hot, nor is it the "Kiss-of-Death."

I haven't run a "temp" program for so long I can't remember! I've learned how to enjoy my system and not be distracted by something that doesn't really matter (IE: being caught up in the "temp-rat-race.")

Most mobos have some overheat protection. I'd set it to something like 70C and then enjoy the system.

Well said TwoRails.

As for the temps, they're not very high, the temps should not hinder the life of your cpu. I get around the same temps as FLG (2400+, not Oc'd, stock hs/f).

Running at that temp will not reduce the life span of your CPU...and even if it did, you're talking about something that could possibly operate for decades at normal temperatures. If running at slightly higher temps does reduce it's lifespan, it may reduce it by a few weeks or months at best...so out of a possible 20 year life span, you lose a few weeks of usable life...big deal...you'll upgrade or build a new computer long before then anyway.

What you don't know is what kind of environment their computers are operating in. If the room is air conditioned and the temps are 60 F, then of course the computer will be running cooler than a computer running in a room with temps in the 70's or 80's. And it could be some of these people are exaggerating about their CPU and system temps (you know, the "mine is better than yours" syndrome). Don't ever compare someone else's CPU temps to yours...if your computer is running stable, all is well. Besides, a stable computer running at a lower temp does not run better than a stable computer running at higher temps.

Stop obsessing about your CPU temps...don't worry, be happy.

the same does not hold true if you are overclocking. higher temps while overclocking will shorten the life of your CPU a lot.

also some say that whether overclocking or not, AMD cpu's are good to 90C. this is not true. 60C is the max that they should ever run. anything below 60C under full load is fine for a system running at stock speeds. for overclocking i would say it's closer to 50C or less, because the more voltage/speed you apply, the worse the core's thermal dynamics get.

just fyi....

Wow... Sorry, but where did you get that info from?? "Some" is AMD, the manufacturer of the CPUs, say they run at (depending on model) either 90 or 95°;C. Intel sez about the same. So why is AMD so different than Intel? Intel sez it...so it's OK?? But when AMD sez it, and it's not OK??

There are many AMD systems that run fine, year after year, at 60°; or higher... Why perport this inaccurate "kiss-of-death"??? It is simply not so.

The laws of physics state that any device that burns 60 or so Watts of energy burns just that: 60 Watts of energy. It doesn't matter what brand it is, it still obeys the lays of physics. Period.

So, why is AMD different? .... it isn't.

Yeah I agree with everybody else don't worry about others temp. The room temp affects your cpu temp I'm running 41c load temp right now but my room temp is 19c case is 23c.
Fans are running low rpm. You shouldn't worry about that 52c I usually get in the 50's in summertime.

believe what you want to believe. 60C is the max it should ever run, though. it is not good for the core to run much hotter. it doesn't just cut a couple months off the cpu's life...more like cuts its life in half. plus the cooler it runs, the more stable it will be in the long run. besides, it's so easy to get it under 60C so why recommend to someone that doesn't know any better that 90C is fine? (not saying that is the case here).

52C is perfectly fine though if you're not experiencing any problems.

later

Again, why infer that only AMD can't run at 60° (which it can) and not Intel???

Do you have any links to support that argument or are you repeating heresy. I'm looking forward to reading the documentation to back up that statement.

Compman set your BIOS to give you a warning at 60C and to shut down at 65C and enjoy your PC.

60C or less is what i recommend. it makes for less problems in the long run. i am basing that on personal experience, which is pretty important. if you don't agree and think that 90C is fine, then that's cool, no one's stopping you from thinking that.

HI ComPman,

Just to reconfirm: your temps are fine. No worries. Setting any protection as low as 60° is not required, and it will keep you from playing games... expecially on summer days.

Wow.here is what i did. removed the Crappy slow ass AMD Fan of the heatsink , and put a 80MM fan on it. My temps droped like 5 degress, now it is idle at 42-46. and when i max it out at around 49 degress, much happy now
