Question Cd-rom and Cd-rw help

I want to install a cd-rom drive and a cd-rw drive into my computer that im building... how do i install it soo both drives will work?

I would put the cdrom as slave on the hard drive and the cdrw as master on the second ide port

how do i configure the drives to be the "masters" or "slaves"

look at the rear of the drive and next to the ide connector you will see some jumpers,
the lable on the top of the drive will show a picture of how to place the jumpers

Depends on the kind of IDE cable the drive is on. If the drive is going on a 80 wire IDE cable, the jumper should be set to CS (cable select)...blue connector to motherboard, the black connector is the master position and the grey connector is the slave position.

If the drive is going on a 40 wire IDE cable, set the jumper to either master or slave (most times it doesn't matter, but some CD-RW's like to be master)...position on the cable doesn't matter.
