How do I change my vCore in the BIOS?

Hey gang,

Ive overclocked and tweaked a lot before but this is stumping me. I have a 2700+ with a 1.65 vCore, but my stupid BIOS sets it as 1.6 for some reason. I go to Power Features or something like that and bump up CPU volage regulator to 1.65 but the vCore stays at 1.60. What the heckk do I do to change mt actual vCore.

I have a very new Award BIOS version that should definetly support this. It reads my CPU as a 2700+ so what the heck?

TIA

There might be an option to configure the CPU speed manually/automatically. Do you have an option similar to this, and if, is it set to manual? HTH

Floppyman, yes I have a manual setting and I had to choose the processor to be a 2700+. I think everything is in my control. But, for some reason I can't change the vCore.

Instead of choosing a processor type, can you somehow manually enter the speed/bus etc? HTH

yes, i can change multiplier and speed etc. but, for some reason the vCore doesn't change to what I want it to. I just read about a guy with the same problems. I then read about a BIOS fix that might do the trick. I'll try that...

Thanks for the help

K, something is just so fishy and confusing here! I have the dreaded revision 1.1 of the board. (there is a "faster" 2.0 out). But that is not my problem. I flashed the newest BIOS and nothing did the trick.

WCPUID reads it as 1.600 and so does my BIOS. I have no clue why my board would be struggling to give the processor 1.650...

I dont know what to do!

Have you tried the next setting(1.75v) ?
It could just be the board is set to 1.65,but it feeds only 1.6v.
If the system is stable at that setting, don't worry about it.

Okay, Alfie you are absolutely right. For some reaon, I have to set it to 1.725 and it bumps the board up to 1.66, which is fine with me. I am still confused as to why that happened.

Thanks guys.

Mobo's don't always take the same amount of power from the psu to supply the vcore, my vcore is set at 1.65v and shows at 1.69v, there are a lot of things that can change the voltage of your vcore. If the system is 100% stable (can run prime95 for days), don't even bother about changing the vcore.
