Psu
Hope this thread is in the right forum.
Has anyone heard or even use a HEC psu before? I know that Antec, Sparkle are the recommended ones here in the forum but here in Singapore, the more 'popular' ones are the HEC. A 350watts Antec psu would cost me around SGD$85. with the same amount i could get myself a 425watts dual fan/ball bearing (dont know whether the dual fan and the balls would make a difference) HEC psu. Hope you guys can help me out. Thanks in Advance. DuNgA |

HEC does actually make good quality PSU's. However, the extra wattage isn't always what you need to look for. In this case, though, it is fine.
edit: As for the fans, you want ball bearing fans in a PSU. Brushless fans will be very quiet to start with, but will get louder within a year of constant use, and become unbearable or unusable within 1-2 years. (typically) The ball bearing fans will last for a much longer time, and will stay fairly consistent as far as their noise output. Last edited by Mr N8; 11-12-2003 at 11:43 AM. |

Yes, HEC power supplies are very good units to use...their quality is about the same as Antec, Enermax, Fortron Source and Sparkle Power.
And I agree with Mr N8, you really don't need a 425 watt PSU when a 350 watt one will do. Cricket
