Mobo -- I suggest changing it to ASUS P4P800 Dlx. It has great onboard sound so you can cross the sound card out. It's also easy to OC with that baby. You can squeeze more Ghz from your cpu.
Keyboard/Mouse -- Why not get a Logitech MX Duo? CDRom/RW: LiteOn DVDRom/RW: Pioneer, LiteOn, Sony I'm not sure of that Riadmax PSU.... EDIT: When you OC with ASUS, you can downgrade the cpu without sacrificing performance/stability. My 2.6 is happily running at 3.12

Ditch the DFI board... go with ASUS or genuine Intel.

If the power supply in the case is not a Raidmax, then you should replace it with Antec or Sparkle one.

Why won't the 9800 SE satisfy me? I'm kinda confused about all the different Radeon cards out there, so if you could explain, that'd be great.
Thanks for the feedback thus far, I appreciate it! I'm going to get an ASUS board like you guys said, and I'm going to get the LiteOn CDRW and DVDRW drivers. More feedback welcome!! |

the 9800SE sits below the 9800/pro/xt cards. i believe the "SE" models are just cards that did not pass the test at higher clock speeds so they lowered the core/memory clock and sell them cheaper rather than scrapping the card altogether. still a good card, but im sure the clock speeds are lower, might have fewer pipelines, etc...
abit or asus or intel for the motherboard, for sure...and.. ive heard raidmax is pretty good but an antec would be the best choice for the psu. Last edited by escher; 11-17-2003 at 02:05 AM. |
