Puting together a nice brand spankin' new system.
AMD TB 850Mhz (Chrome Orb fan) Micron 128Mb PC133 SDRAM (2) for total of 256MB Maxtor 30Gb 7200rpm ATA100 HDD SiS305 AGP 16Mb Video Card Panasonic FDD 300W PS -other stuff doesn't matter at this point these are the only things hooked up Power is going to all...green light on Fdd lights when i switch the cable to red on 34. HDD starts. Fan works - gets its power from MB. JEN is on pin 2-3. DSW all on OFF. I tried switching the RAM to PC-100 from one of my working comps...no luck... tried only one stick in each slot. This is only the first evening of trying to get it going. From some of the posts at other places...this is a really troublesome board...to say the least. If anyone has a solution or suggestion PLEASE post. Help most appreciated, Thanks |

Is it booting and freezing?
Not booting? What are the symptoms? |

Sorry, didn't realize I hadn't said that it will not boot...at all, no beeps no nothing...but like original post, power is going to everything...fan of MB...so on.
(the P/S is L&C - it is on the "prefered" AMD list)-just thought I would add this to be more specific. Since first post i tried to boot with just ram, and vid card connected...still nothing...what am i missing? should i be using only jumper setting and not the "soft" menu or what... Checking other post sites...lots of complaints about this board, but no solutions...I'd like to get a solution. Thanks. |

No beeps could be bad. Is the speaker hooked up? Does the green led light in the middle of motherboard come on? Is the video card in properly? You can try and boot with the motherboard outside of the case with the video card, RAM & processor only laying on a box or antistatic bag. This will tell you if the motherboard is being grounded by the case.

Green light goes on, speaker is hooked up correctly. I'll get back to you on the grounding thing.
is the AGP Pro slot have anything to do with it? -FYI- I am now randomly turning it on everynowandagain hoping for devine intervention - I'll keep you posted :( |

All voltage jumpers are on pins 3&4?
The agp pro slot is backward compatible,so is not an issue. If you notice the front of the slot is plugged, leave it so,the card simply goes in towards the back of the slot, make sure it is and is seated firmly. You may want to try a different video card (even a pci will do),just to eliminate this as a possibilty. Make sure the dipswitches for the multipliers are set to off.DSFID 1-6. If it doesn't take in jumper free mode set the motherboard to jumpered and set the dipswitches and voltage for your cpu and try that. If the above things get no result, you may have a bumb board or cpu. |
