Could you give me your opinion on this setup?

AMD Gaming setup I have gotten all of these prices off of newegg except for the videocard:

Case: ENlight Black Mid-Tower PC Case w/300W PSU Model:EN-72500AZB 53.00

CD RW: Lite On Black 52x32x52 2MB OEM 38.00

DVD ROM: Lite ON Black 16x OEM 33.00

Heatsink: Speeze "FalconRock" Retail 9.00
(I know the retail AMD has one but should I go with the OEM instead and get this? or just stick with the retail and not worry about a different heatsink?)

Floppy: Samsung Black OEM 6.99

Memory: CORSAIR MEMORY 512MB PC3200 Value Select x2
166.00

Motherboard: Asus nForce2 Ultra 400 Motherboard for AMD Processors, Model "A7N8X Deluxe" Retail 117.99
(Now, I know this comes with a built in soundcard and lancard and it can do raid but I already have a 120GB Maxtor HDD so I wont be doing raid. I was also planing on getting the Creative Labs 2 soundcard. Is it worth getting since it does have a higher FSB than the A7N8X-X model, it also gives me more options for the future. The other model is 50 bucks less as well)

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2500+ "Barton", 333 FSB, 512K Cache Processor - Retail 91.00

Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 - PCI OEM
68.00

Video Card: ATI Radeon 9600XT 128MB DDR AGP8X RETAIL
179.00 (Halo 2 does come with this correct?)

Please give me some input, thanks in advance.

Stay with the stock Heatsink, and don't worry about buying another one, unless you want to do overclocking, in which you would need more than a $9 heatsink.

Someone said that their samsung floppy was DOA, so see about getting a Panasonic or Sony, although that Samsung should be fine.

Good choice of Mobo...if you want to do overclocking try the NF7-S by Abit; supposed to be one of the best overclocking boards for AMD, and the 2500+ is supposed to be very overclockable.....

That video card should be pretty good, and either you're not a gamer, which don't think is true, I think you just made a typo....yes Half Life 2 comes with that card, not Halo 2.

Everything else looks good.

I have read on this forum that the Lite-on DVD drives are pretty noisy.

Yeah, Half Life 2 is what I meant. I could have sworn I read Halo 2 in someone's post somewhere. Oh well, not important. I didnt really care about the floppy but I'll see if pan or sony is as cheap. Though with the mobo, do I need the deluxe? or will I be fine with the x? I'm not planing on OC because 2500's are locked now.

Oh, and I just changed cases as well to the Aspire X-Dreamer II Black ATX Case with 350 W psu. I saw that one and it kicks the Enlight's butt(at least in looks.)

You're definetly right about the case. I just got the Aspire yesterday and it looks really good and relatively inexpensive. If you get the black one, I think you get free shipping from newegg. The only thing is that people on this forum have said that the PS might no be so great.

Ya the psu for that case sint good. Change it if you can. You can still overclock the 2500+ and get a Sony DVD drive.

What speakers are you using?
If youre using regular speakers i suggest you try out the onboard sound on the mobo, i heard its really decent.

Floppy: teac, mitsumi are good brands

The drives are a little noisy, but arent they all when theyre being read?

2500+ are being locked so might as well just stick with retail.
