Cool I Need A Good Kick Butt Cpu Cooler!

Hi guys, I just wanted to see what you all would recommend for a good cpu cooler for the system in my sig. I'm starting to get into some more overclocking and tweaking stuff, and the little speeze fan that I have on there now probably won't cut it for long. The cpu is a AMD 2600+ w/333 fsb. Thanks!

Those are 2 of the very best heatsinks there are. All you need is a fan to go along with them.
Is noise an issue?
If it is then http://svc.com/vantec.html
If not then http://svc.com/92vantorfan1.html
The last fan will make a helluva racket, so beware.
You could also get a fan inbetween those two, it really wont make too much difference.
HTH
ps...you will also need thermal compound too...i reccomend artic silver

Thanks for the links and everything. Do you use one of those yourself? If so, what kind of temps do you get. BTW, for anybody else posting, noise is not an issue. I'm an avid lan party guy, so the louder the better, lol.

Personally, I use an slk-800 with a thermaltake smart fan 2 w/ artic silver 3
cpu: 96 f
thats w/ a few case fans on low speed and its about 75 f in my room
If you got the 92mm vantec tornado and either one of those 'sinks, then you should have great temps, but, trust me, the noise will get to you after a while.
HTH

I've got a Volcano 9 on my 2200+ and the clunker runs at 111 F on a good day. Pick another, TT is useless.

That's kinda why I'm getting another CPU cooler. With the one I have i can open both windows in my room (it's the middle of winter in northern Montana ok!) and the CPU will only lose a couple of degrees. I figure it's cuz your fan can't blow away any more heat than your heatsink will pick up, and my little heat sink don't cut it man!

Well dudes, I did a lotta looking and a lotta checking and a lotta reading.......and I just couldn't come up with anyting better than what scott_d recommended. So, as soon as my already placed Newegg.com order arrives, I will be running a SLK-900U Thermalright full copper heat sink with a 92mm 119 CFM Tornado fan. Thanks a million scott_d! I'll make sure to let all of you know how it works as soon as I get it in. Have a look at the links scott_d posted up at the top of the thread. There are some real good pics of this stuff.

I think you'll really like that HSF from thermalright.

I like mine a lot (old AX-7 w/80mm Sunon fan).

My idle temp is 42C/107F.

Let's just hope I can get that freakin huge thing to fit on my mobo, lol. BTW the heat sink is actually a SLK-900A, which is supposed to be an improvement over the SLK-900U, with better cooling and more clearence at the base of the heat sink.

The slk 900a is designed to fit on to any socket A board,so you shouldn't have a problem.

Did anybody notice that you have to move the pads or install new ones to get this silly thing to fit???

The heatsink comes with it's own little pads,if you look on the bottom of the heatsink, you'll see small punch marks, that's where the supplied pads go.
