Question Mobo & CPU????

Currently I have an AMD chip and I want to change to INTEL.

My question is, what Mobo will give me the best flexibility for future upgrades? I am looking to maybe get an INTEL 2.8 chip, but want a board that will handle the 3.2 when the price comes down.

Looking for suggestions on Mobo and CPU suggestions as well.

I want to build a good system to do all my daily programs and Solidworks for work, some games and I will be putting a cable modem on this machine as well. I am also going to upgrade to XP.

Another question. I have ME now and can I buy the XP upgrade for $99 or do I need to buy the full version if I want to do a clean install of XP?

Thanks for the help.

ASUS P4P800 DLX or ASUS P4C800 DLX with a 2.6C

The upgrade will work to do the clean install or you can get an full OEM copy at newegg for $91

What is the difference between the 2.6CG and 2.6 G? What does the CG and G stand for on the INTEL chips?

Thanks

I believe the G is Ghz and C means 800Mhz FSB. Don't know why they list it with the GC unless it's a typo.

I am definately getting the hyperthread P4 but was just wondering what mobo would be my best option.

I am leaning toward the P4C800 right now.

Thanks Gamer.
