Afteroon:
I just bought all the goodies for a new system. All I need to move over to my new system is my HD, soundcard, burner, and NIC. What do I need to remove from DEVICE manager before the HD move? I know I need to uninstall my video card driver... I'm just not sure what to remove under the SYSTEM DEVICES. Everything? Should I uninstall any other drivers? Soundcard/burner/network card? Any other tips would also be great. I'm going from a P2350 to a Thunderbird 1gig (woohoo!). Thanks! |

Boot to safe mode and remove EVERYTHING that can be removed in device manager to give yourself a clean start on hardware detection. BTW, make sure you have your Windows CAB files on the hard drive as you will not be able to access the CD-Rom when requested until the hard drive controller and CD-Rom are re-detected and the system rebooted.
