Question about BIOS configuring DDR memory
Hello Guys, I built a new Computer A few Weeks ago and it is up and running and doing good. I've Got a question concerning the way BIOS recognizes my DDR GEIL Memory. First of all, my Intel Motherboard is model D845GERG2 and my CPU is an Intel Pentium 4, 2.4 GHz and my memory is DDRAM 512MB PC-400 Geil. Windows XP Pro is the operating System installed. When I go into BIOS, it only shows 256Mb memory installed. I switched the two sticks of 256Mb memory and there is no difference in the BIOS. It still reports only 256 Mb memory. Could my Motherboard be defective or what. Thanks for any help. JonDee

Thanks for your quick reply Bailey. There is only two slots on this motherboard for DDR memory and there is a stick of 256Mb in each one. I switched them and it still only says I have 256MB of DDR Memory. I have ggod memory because either one of them will be in slot 0 but not in slot 1.
