ATI Overdrive
Is Overdrive just compatible with all of the DirectX9 Cards, or is it only for the 9800 series or what?

From ATI site.
"Q4: What ATI products support ATI OVERDRIVE™? A4: Currently ATI OVERDRIVE™ is only supported on the RADEON™ 9800 XT and RADEON™ 9600 XT (upon availability). " |

Sort of, sakeo. Here's all the Q & A's about Overdrive from the ATI site.
Q1: Is ATI OVERDRIVE™ safe to use? A1: Yes. The new ATI OVERDRIVE™ control panel lets users safely maximize the performance level of their graphics processor. ATI OVERDRIVE™ intelligently determines the optimal speed of the graphics processor by constantly monitoring the temperature of the graphics processor, ensuring that it always stays at a safe level. Q2: How can I find out the frequency that ATI OVERDRIVE™ sets my graphics processor to when enabled? A2: Users can download any free 3rd party utility to observe the frequency that ATI OVERDRIVE™ sets your graphics processor to. A future CATALYST™ release will update the ATI OVERDRIVE™ control panel so that users can read both the temperature and frequency of the graphics processor. Q3: Does ATI OVERDRIVE™ increase both the graphics processor and graphics memory frequency? A3: No. ATI OVERDRIVE™ currently only increases graphics processor frequency. A future CATALYST™ release will also increase graphics memory frequency as well. Q4: What ATI products support ATI OVERDRIVE™? A4: Currently ATI OVERDRIVE™ is only supported on the RADEON™ 9800 XT and RADEON™ 9600 XT (upon availability). Q5: Can I use a manual over-clocking utility in conjunction with ATI OVERDRIVE™? A5: If you enable ATI OVERDRIVE™, and use a 3rd party manual over-clocking utility to set your graphics processor clock to an over-clocked speed, ATI OVERDRIVE™ will automatically reduce the graphics processor frequency if ATI OVERDRIVE™ detects that graphics processor is too hot. If ATI OVERDRIVE™ is not enabled, any 3rd party manual over-clocking utility can be used to set the graphics processor to any desired speed |

The faq's I posted are straight from the ATI site. Think they were posted there when the 3.8 drivers were out and the 9600XT had not yet been released. The Overdrive option is now part of the 3.10 drivers, I believe, and although I can find no info on the Sapphire or ATI site, I'm thinking Overdrive will be enabled on the 9600XT. Personally, I NEVER use ATI's early release drivers. Let everyone else be the Guinea pig. I'll wait for the Omega 3.10's. He seems to offer a more refined and trustworth product than ATI. I had trouble some time back with two different releases from ATI and since switching to Omega's never had a burp.

I think you can enable it in the display options. Right Click On Desktop -> Properties -> Settings -> Advanced, and it should be in there. What are the Omega drivers? Are they for ATI cards but just not made by ATI?

RADEON WIN 2K/XP OMEGA DRIVERS 2.4.96c
Are they the latest drivers? Also they would work with a Ati 7000 PCI right? |

Those are the latest (same I'm using) and will work with any ATI board. Just make sure you pick the proper OS. They are not the 3.10 based drivers tho. Omega hasn't released them yet. Those are based on the 3.9 ATI drivers.
