hi. I was talking about getting all these fans on other threads i posted. However, i finally got my shipment and they sent me one for free. They gave me the global win fop32-1. I'm trying to put it on my amd cpu right now and I'm having a hard ass time. I can get one side of the clip on but the other side is really hard. I feel like i'm going to break my cpu in half if i put a lot of pressure. Please help me.

AMD offers an excellent how to.
You'll need Adobe acrobat to read it(pdf) It's best to study it carefully. Put the heatsink and fan on outside of case. DON'T force it,may damage cpu! Make sure stepped area is placed over the plastic part of socket. You may need a small screwdriver or socket to aid you. Remove memory prior to install(a slight slip and memory may be damaged) Here's the link to AMD: http://www.amd.com/products/cpg/athlon/pdf/23986.pdf This read is reccommended for all,it gives info do's and don'ts,etc. Do you have thermal paste? |

hey its me again. I tried putting on the thing and one of the clips broke. Thats the end of that fan.
Why did they make it so hard to put on the damn heat sink/fan. I HOPE my cpu didn't break. There are no external damage i really hope there isn't internal damages. I don't know how they expect you to put on the fan and keep the cpu safe when you need to put on 25 lbs of pressure???????? well i'm back where i was 4 days ago. I gotta get another heat sink/fan. AHHHHHH |

Get an Alpha Pal 6035 and some Artic silver heat compound.
http://2cooltek.safeshopper.com/1/cat1.htm?83 The Alphas go on nice and are about the best cooler you can buy. Another user friendly heatsink are made by TiaSol. It's a TiaSol that's shown on the AMD pdf in my previous post. With the Alpha, once the clip is placed on the one side. there's a ridge in which a small screwdriver fits, makes pushing the clip down a breeze. Many a cpu has been damaged by improper heatsink or installation. With a magnifying glass carefully examine the slug on the cpu,if no metal is exposed or no chipping has taken place, the cpu probably survived. DO NOT use cpu without heatsink and fan 7-15 sec survival without! |

thanks alfie. I'll get the alpha then. I've seen the alphas on a couple sites and each one sell it with different fans. I've heard the sanyo denki fans are nice and quiet but i can't find any of those in stock. Which fans are good to buy with the alpha. Because i really dont' want too much noise.

This model is the quieter of the two offered at the site above.
The one with the Delta fan is the noisy one. http://2cooltek.safeshopper.com/1/159.htm?555 |
