40gb Hdd..

is 40gb hdd suficient for a gaming rig?

Yes it is.
In fact, despite new humongous hard drives, that's still an excellent size. Only if you're into digital photography or have a huge mp3 collection will you need more.

I have 210 Songs on my HDD right now, from my CDs and Napster, and they are only 510Mb. So you figure every 410 songs about will be 1Gb, so even if you have 2050 songs on you HDD thats only 5 Gb, and you still have 35 for games, formatting and whatever else. More than enough. the only downside would be that 80gigs is not too much more than 40gigs, check you local papers for 40 maxtor or WD HDDs. they are usually about 50 bucks for 80gigs+. Also if you buy a 40gig HDD make sure you get the 8Mb Cache.
