What else do I need for my drives

I want to purchase a Lite-on DVD Rom drive and a Lite-on CD-RW drive. New egg only lists them both as OEM. What else do I have to buy to add to the OEM units?

Get a Pioneer or Sony DVD Rom as they are better quality, Lite-On CD-RW is a great choice. Most likely, you will need an 80-wire IDE cable to connect the drives to your mobo, and you may also need supporting software for each drive if they don't already come with the OEM drive. Also four mounting screws for each drive to secure them in your case.

I agree with oddjob, Lite On are known for their cd burners, not their DVD drives.

What specific software do I have to buy? In other words what do I order from a supplier?

The CD-RW drive will come with Nero OEM if I remember the DVD will come with Power DVD or WinDVD even though it is OEM.

Pioneer DVD drive doesn't come in black. Neither the Sony DVD Rom Drive nor the Lite-on CD-RW come with supporting software in OEM versions. I am sorry but I still don't know what software to get for each of those drives? Will they each need different supporting software? If so what? I appreciate your help very much.

If you are ordering from newegg the Lite-On RW will come with the Nero OEM version and the Lite-On DVD will come with Power DVD. If you do not believe me go to the Newegg product page and click on the " Click Here For More Product Info" then the "More Images" link and you will see what comes with them.
Another pretty good DVD-Rom is the Aopen in Black (Retail Box) for $30.00 on Newegg.

I'll second what morriswindgate said. Go with the retail Aopen DVD-Rom, it will have everything you need. The IDE cable, mounting screws and PowerDVD software. Also yes, the OEM Lite-On CD-RW should come with Nero Express software, you'll just need the mounting screws.

retail Aopen DVD

OEM Lite-On CD-RW
