dvd-rw problem!

me and a buddy are installing a LiteOn DVD+R/+RW drive, on his home computer. The problem is we have it installed but its giving us a message in haredware installtion stating the following:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because it confiquration information (in the registry) is incomplete or is damaged (code 19).

Also in the device manager screen it's showing the DVD drive but it has a yellow ! mark under it.

He is running window xp home edition.

Thanks, all help will be greatly appreciated.......

We tried both Master jump and cable select jump, but still the same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know the computer is detecting the drive because in device manager it was showing the:

LiteOn DVD+R/+RW drive.

I think what the problem might be is he just unhooked his cd drive and hooked the dvd drive right in its place with out uninstalling the cd drive first. Could that cause the error.
Sorry about this I should have posted this in my first post.

go into the device manager and remove it and then reboot see if it corrects the problem
