where can i find....
hey sorry, i'm trying to find non-oem stuff since i'm a new builder. anywho, does anyone know where i can find a retail version of this hard drive?
Maxtor 120GB 7200RPM IDE Hard Drive, Model 6Y120P0, OEM Drive Only There's not a lot of retail hard drives that i can find. :-/..also i just chose a different hard drive, that one, today so if you can look at my parts list and tell me if that's compatible and a good hard drive. I think it's fine. Thanks. |

hard drives are one of the parts that has no benifit for being retail, most people but that oem.
retail can be found at any of the local retail outlets like sams club, best-buy, office depo, comp-usa ect. |

All a retail drive gets you is a pretty box, installation software, screws, and maybe a cable and a pamphlet. Your motherboard will come with cables and your case will come with screws. The software is ususally not necessary, but if you do need it, it can be downloaded. You can also download instructions if you need them.
