Alternate Motherboard

My friend's mobo crapped out on him and he doesnt want to spend too much moeny on one. I told him that the ASUS P4P800 is worth every dollar spent on it but he doesnt want to spend that much. What would be a good motherboard that is less expensive than the ASUS P4P800 and has overclocking options? He has a 2.4Ghz C P4.

How bout the P4P800-VM? I've built a couple with this one. Same features as P4P800 without firewire and it's in a M-ATX form factor.

If he doesn't want to spend that kind of money on a motherboard and wants good overclocking options, that's an oxymoron. If you wanna play, ya gotta pay.

escher: Onboard video is plenty good for almost anything but heavy duty gaming these days, you can't broadly categorize it as "barf". 90% of the systems we sell now have onboard.

Besides, you can always disable the on-board video and install a AGP video card if necessary.
