I was just curious as to if your current setup is compatible with 2500+ and higher (meaning Barton) CPUs, and the recommended faster memory.

XP2500+ should run Cooler at a faster BUS speed 333. It can also use faster Ram than the XP2400+. Coupled with some DDR333 it runs pretty fast. However, I have noted that on benchmarks that sometimes the XP2400 outpaces the XP2500.

Sadly, that's a T-Bred or earlier mobo, not a Barton mobo... They did make a 266FSB 2600+ but it might be hard to find as most of them are now 333FSB units. I just looked at NewEgg and the highest they had listed was the 2400+

Double check by phone.
It says thoroughbred but the fsb reads 166.
I think that's something the proofreader missed, it should read 266, but it's worth a phone call to make sure.
If it is you're in luck.

thats a thorton core CPU. the replacement for the Tbred. it has the bigger die like the barton but with 256kb of L2 cache disabled. you can enable the rest of the cache by doing the L2 mod to the chip and have a full fledged barton.

Your mobo link above sez it supports up to a 2600+T-Bred, so it should work. The CPU link you posted does state it's a T-Bred, so it should match that mobo. I agree with pam123 that there is a typo on the CPU link, as if it is a T-Bred as stated, it should say 266 FSB.
