hot intel

Ive had my new computer for a very short time and its been fine but recently ive been noticing with my intel active monitor program that my processor is at unusal temperatures for a pentium... when im just browsing the web the temp is about 38 degrees Celcius and after playing games evern for only 5 minutes it goes all the way up to about 47-50 degrees celcius. This has been happening for a couple weeks and maybe im making a mistake and these are normal temperatures but if not please help me out

47- 50c is normal for cpu demanding applications such as playing games.Only start to consider getting more cooling if your system gets to 70c and even if it gets too hot, intel processors will under clock automaticaly to redece the temp

Hope this helps

Those temps are perfectly fine...don't worry about them. In fact, disable the Intel Active monitor as it's not very accurate and can give you false warnings.

Rather than using a utility like the Active Monitor tell you if your computer is running well, just use your computer like you normally would and when there's a problem, you'll know because the system itself will tell you by crashing, becoming unstable, locking up, etc...

Those temp utilities are more trouble than they're worth if they make you fret and worry about your computer temps instead of letting you enjoy the use of your new computer like you should be.

the Intel active monitor is a pain in the backside, dump it.
all of the 17 Intel 865 (gbf & perll) systems I have build have shown temps of ± 37c @ idle & 48c to 50c after running 3DMark2001 for an hour. Board temps goes up to 43c. None of the gaming systems have ever crashed. As Cricket says, just enjoy your PC !!!
