How many/Which fan/s do i need?

Hi, I am currently running this spec computer:

AMD Athlon XP2000+ (not o/c, as of yet hopefully)
512DDR 3200 Crucial
GForce 256DDR 500Mhz FX5600 graphics (with its own fan, so no problem there i dont think)
Not quite sure about the power supply but i believe it is quite powerful (400+W i think)
Gigabyte K7-N400 Pro 2 mobo
At the moment all i am running is a case fan that came with this computer when i first got it as a 700Mhz Cpu with little memory and 64mb graphics.

can anyone recommend a quiet, cost efficient but still very very effective air cooling system / fans (or just one good one ). there is quite a large amount of space on one side of the case, because it is massive

my budget is around £1 - 40 (£40 being pretty much maximum as i am only a student ) i prefer to order this stuff online so any links to good hardware would be appreciated.

thx

You should not need any addtional cooling. People, for some reason, like to suggest that AMD boxes need tons of fans... they don't. I never use more than the "must haves" (the CPU fan, PS fan) and the standard rear case fan(s).

Just for example, the machine I'm on right now has 6 drives, a 2700+, and a ATI 9800 Pro and the system runs just fine with just the rear case fans. I don't even use front case fans anymore as I found I do not get a reduction in temps, not to mention that AMD also recommends to Not use front fans.

Panaflo, Vantec, Thermaltake are nice and quiet fans. I personally use Antec. They are cheap and very reliable but might be a bit noisy.

But as TwoRails said, your system shouldn't require any additional fans. I just slapped 8 fans in my system just because I like to and I have extra fans lying around.

If you aren't experiencing any heat related problems (random freezing, lockups or rebooting), you don't need to add any more fans.
